Celebrity Server
The Prescott-Russell branch of Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario held its first fund raising event, “Celebrity Server”, this February 8th at Boston Pizza in Rockland. More than 500 people came out for the event and approx. 1200$ was raised to help grant wishes for children with life threatening illnesses. Shown in the photo are Stéphane Langlois, President and Sophie Patenaude, secretary of the Prescott-Russell Committee.

During this Make-A-Wish Prescott-Russell fund raising event, held at Boston Pizza in Rockland, Mike Wlotzki, executive director for eastern Ontario, was a personal waiter for many people who came out for the event.
Golf Angels
Here's how it works!
In exchange for your commitment of $500 in 2012 we would like you to participate in three Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario Foundation golf tournaments, in Golf Angels team apparel. You will receive two Golf Angel hats and two high end Golf Angel golf shirts to wear when you represent the Golf Angels at events. This will give Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario great awareness.
By making this important gesture, you will help us support events that are organized for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario Foundation and help us insure that we retain our partnerships year to year.
Thanks to our sponsor and partner Promomedia Group, you will receive golf apparel mentioned free of charge and you will be helping a most worthy cause, not to mention the opportunity to play three great rounds of golf with people that share your passion for the game.
2012 Golf Schedule
TBD
Our 2012 Goal is to have 20 Golf Angels signed up in our club to fulfill our 3rd party commitments and ensure annual revenue funds for our WISH Mission.
Why does this work?
One of the things that we at Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario do to ensure these vital funds come in on an annual basis is support the event organizers like these above with resources to relieve pressure off of them.
This is what makes Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario different from other charities and again helps us secure funds on an annual basis.
This is why we are reaching out to you to see if you can assist in this important Golf Angel campaign. Not only will you be helping us in 2012 but you will be really helping in potentially having us maintain these funds and relationships for years to come.
Thank you for your kindness and your consideration in helping Make-A-Wish® Eastern Ontario continue to solidify these partnerships on an annual basis so that we can fulfill our “Wish” mission.
Mike Wlotzki Executive Director Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario.
Wish Children Fundraising
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ZOE AND FAMILY FOR THEIR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS
Zoe and her family raised over $1800 in support of Make-A-Wish through various fundraisers.
Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario Spirit Award:

Each year every Chapter of Make-A-Wish in Canada is tasked to choose a volunteer who exemplifies the true spirit of being a volunteer. The process is not an easy one with an organization such as Make-A-Wish with so many people volunteering for so Many different things. This is our third year presenting this award and Past Winners Include:
- Maureen MacArthur – Chapter Founder
- Renee Bazinet of the Data Group of Companies
This year’s recipient has been volunteering for Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario in a big way for over 5 years now. He got started by getting involved as our In-Kind printer, initially getting us well-stocked with business cards, letterhead and other office items. Over the years he grew as an In-Kind donor, eventually expanding to tackle all of our printing needs – Gala programs, tickets, plaques, and much, much, more. He started his own business 2 years ago and has had more free time to grow. He now acts as a Chapter Territory Representative who helps us find new sponsors and acts as an all-around ambassador.
On behalf of the board of directors, staff, volunteers and wish kids – Thank you Gary Schectman for everything you have done for us so far and hope you keep helping for many more years.
